We are getting ready for our 175th Anniversary Celebration, which is happening March 8-10. As churches struggle to envision themselves for the 21st century, I am always impressed with the histories of long-standing churches. Somehow, they navigate changing cultures, demographics and environments through time. Rockland Congregational Church has done that, and we hope to present that continuity and ability to change during our celebration weekend.
February also represented the beginning of Lent, a time of reflection and repentance and prayer as we head into the celebration of Christ's resurrection on Easter morning. We have been doing a meditative Lectio Divina service on Wednesday evenings and have been exploring the nature of power - ours and God's - on Sunday mornings.
We have a busy church and that is a great blessing of the Lord. Join us for our 175th Celebration, or our Wednesday evening service during Lent, on Sunday mornings at 10 am or on Easter Morning for our Sunrise Service at 6am - or come to all! We look forward to seeing you!
Rockland Congregational Church
We are a Congregational Church on the coast of Maine in the little town of Rockland. We are followers of Jesus Christ who seek to serve God in faith, fellowship and freedom, honoring the tradition of our Pilgrim heritage.
