May 15, 2022 - The Fifth Sunday of Easter
"Imagination Forming and Formed" - Rev. Dr. Seth Jones
Scripture: Acts 11:1-18; John 13:31-35
Jesus commands us to an ethic of love and demonstrates what that looks like throughout his life and resurrection. When he says, "Follow me", he is speaking as much to this ethic of love as to himself. I would argue they are one and the same. The key, or at least one of the keys, to enacting that ethic in the world is by way of a Spirit-inspired imagination. So we explore the power of imagination this morning.

April 24, 2022 - The Second Sunday of Easter
"Revolutions of the Mind: Contradictions and Paradoxes" - Rev. Dr. Seth Jones
Today, we looked at Luke's appearance stories of Jesus' resurrection. Luke is up to some interesting things here (thanks to Deborah Thompson Prince in her article, "The 'Ghost' of Jesus in Luke 24"). There are many different ways to think about how the dead act with the living, but there are some categories that seem to continue throughout time. Today, we would talk about ghosts, zombies, saints, and vampires, but there were similar conceptions in the ancient world. Luke shows how Jesus is none of these. We also had a Q&A following the sermon.
Enjoy the video and audio!
Peace and grace in the shadow of Christ!

April 17, 2022 - Resurrection Sunday
"Idle Tales of Unbelief"- Rev. Dr. Seth Jones
Today we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The central and great mystery of the faith calls us to slow down and immerse ourselves deeply in the story and the memories that surround us. We can do that by attending to the extraordinary spiritual experience that the women have at the tomb.
I have posted the entire service in both video and audio.
Enjoy! Christ is Risen!
