Every Sunday following Christmas we do a congregational hymn sing. I did not preach and nor did I record anything. Merry Christmas to all!

12/20/2015 -- Advent 4: God's Magnificence and Ours
Mother Mary is the great example of what it means to have the dignity of God bestowed upon us. The magnificence of God in our creation and creation itself is the source of our worth and value and dignity in this world.

12/13/2015 - Advent 3: No Fear!
Scripture: Zephaniah 3:14-20; Philippians 4:4-9; Luke 3:7-18
We live in a culture of fear right now. In my darker moments, I believe this is deliberate because people who are afraid are easy to control. When I am not in that dark space, I am able to see alternatives to living in fear. I believe all of Scripture calls us to live in a different culture, a culture defined by the ways of God and Christ, not by fear. They are very different.

11/29/2015 -- Advent 1: Promises, Promises
Scripture: Jeremiah 33:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 3:
Today we begin Advent. Advent is a time of waiting, expectation. It is also a time of recognizing that we do not know how God will be present with us. So much of our faith life is defined by what we do know, but God often presents himself to us in ways we cannot know or do not understand.
How we walk through and into the unknown is part of the work of Advent. We get to practice how to do this by trusting in God's promises. In hope, peace, love and joy.

Peace and blessings to you this Advent season!
