The Seventh Sunday of Easter - Ascension Sunday
"The Miracle of the Ascension and What it Means For Us"
Scripture: Ephesians 1:15-23; Luke 24:44-53
The Ascension of Jesus is one of the miracles of his life. It is a strange thing, and to pass it off as something that only happens to Jesus is to miss the point of this experience. Today, we dive deep into the strange, the mysterious, the inexplicable, and wonder what we may be learning from bearing witness to these events with the disciples.

The Sixth Sunday of Easter
"Becoming Church with Jesus: The Wellsprings of Healing"
Scripture: Psalm 67; Revelation 21:10, 22:1-5; John 5:1-13
Today, we join Jesus on the porticoes of the Pool at Bethesda. There is so much more going on here than merely another healing. Jesus is reordering and restructuring not just bodies, but also whole cultures and ways of life.
It all begins with a question:
DO YOU WANT TO BE MADE WELL?
The text and audio are available this week.
Peace and grace, Pastor Seth

The Fourth Sunday of Easter
"Becoming Church with Jesus: A Suspenseful Resurrection"
Scripture: Psalm 23; Revelation 7:9-17; John 10:22-30
How do we suspend ourselves above any particular experience, in order to not experience what is happening around us? This is what the religious people around Jesus are doing in the Gospel of John. The way we release ourselves from that animated suspension may not be what you think it is.
Enjoy the audio!
Peace and blessings.

The Third Sunday of Easter
"Becoming Church with Jesus: Breakfast with Jesus on the Shores of Love"
Scripture: Psalm 30; Revelation 5:11-14; John 21:1-19
Jesus, breakfast, and cosmic background radiation - that is the theme for this morning. The world we in which we live basks in the radiant heat of creation itself. When Jesus builds a fire it reflects that ever-present, yet ancient heat and light, and we are also called to become that heat and light in the world.

The Second Sunday of Easter
"Becoming Church with Jesus: Witnessing to the Risen Christ"
Scripture: Psalm 150; Revelation 1:4-8; John 20:19-30
To believe is to experience and to experience is to have life. That is quite a statement, and once we start looking underneath that statement, things become very different than we expected.
Today, we reflect on the nature of belief and faith in light of the Resurrection of Jesus.
Enjoy either the written version above, or the spoken version below, or both!

RESURRECTION SUNDAY
"Idle Tales" -- Full Service
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:19-28; Luke 24:1-12
Christ is Risen! Christ is Risen, indeed!
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of God's love. By gathering together on this day, and all days, we get a little closer to embodying God's love for us by way of Jesus. It does require that we accept a very weird and strange story, however, in order to get together like we do. We sing hymns , we pray together, we listen to readings from a really, really old book. Sometimes, we eat bread and drink grape juice together and the minister says weird things about Jesus' body and blood. If it sounds strange, well, you share that with the disciples, who, upon hearing the women tell them a story about angels and an empty tomb which once held Jesus, called it an 'idle tale'.
It is a pretty good tale, though.
The entire service is below.
Enjoy!

PALM SUNDAY
"The Men Who Steal Horses"
Scripture: Psalm 118, Philippians 2:5-11, Luke 19:28-40
Today begins Easter Week, the central story of the entire Jesus tradition. It is always a challenge to find something new to say about these symbols and stories and traditions, but finally the story is really always the same:
the continuing reality of God's steadfast love which endures forever. This is what we talked about today. It is a solid foundation to enter the chaotic week of judgment, torture, death, and burial.
Enjoy the audio this week!
